protestors holding up ordinary people

No answer then.
When you find a law entitling you to demand random strangers provide you with details of their financial affairs, let me know.

When you find a logical explanation of your belief that the justification of taxation policy is dependent on knowing how rich, or poor, a random stranger is, and their tax liabilities, let me know.

A simple "correct" would have been fine.

Of course a person's likely liability to be impacted by a tax is relevant to their opinion. But most don't complain that others are also able to avoid the tax with some careful planning. The hypocritical position is arguing others should pay more when you pay zero.

A fairer IHT would be where the majority of estates had something to pay, not just a tiny few.

Your fantasies are seldom correct.

You like to construct circumstances from your imagination that you hope will make your preferences seem less unreasonable.

But you cannot justify your opinion of tax policy by plucking out of the air made-up figures relating to a single random person.

Your protest speaks volumes.

Nonsense.

My refusal to comply with your demand that I divulge details of my poverty or wealth, and my tax liabilities, irks you.

But your demand is ridiculous and not to be taken seriously.

You live in a fairytale world of your own imaginings where you have the right to make judgements in your head based on facts you have invented to suit your own prejudices.

Tell me again about your made-up press release.

If inheritance is free money that you didn't earn why not apply a threshold at say £30k with a smaller tax? Then more people can "chip in". At the end of the day the person receiving the money is not means tested.

Why is the current IHT threshold set at £325K, or whatever it is?

325k per person +125k per dependant, double for married - gets to a max of £1m tax free.

Labour introduced it, and both have increased the threshold over time.
