I replaced my boiler on thursday to a baxi 50,000 btu conventinal boiler. He removed the old boiler and fitted 2 valves on the pipes and connected the flush machine to them while he got the new boiler and flue on the wall.

After flushing he asked me if id had any pump proplems. I said no so he said "it could be air and lets leave it on and see how it is tomorrow"
We got up at 8am it was red hot and hot water great so he came back and we paid him in full.

Today it stopped working and the plumber said I will out at 10am sunday a if its the pump then all I will charge is £75 to cover the pump and petrol"
Now isnt it his job to get it working and im thinking of telling him that he should pay for the pump as he should have known the pump wasnt working .

Have I just been unlucky?

even if the pump wasn't working and he fitted one on the day the boiler was fitted its still down to you to pay for the pump.

I agree although I would've included a new pump in the quote price. Either way if you need a new pump you must pay for it. I had my car serviced recently and I needed a new tyre for which I had to pay extra!
