Sorted out a slow puncture on a family car yesterday.
I took the wheel off and found both a small screw head and a thin wire spike in the tread centre about 14" apart.
Took it to local tyre centre and the fella said they wouldn't repair the punctures because little feathering cracks on the tyre's shoulder rubber.
The fella said its illegal to repair such a tyre.
The tyre had about 3mm of tread left and x2 punctures was £30. £59 for a new one.
New tyre fitted and all is well. Presumably the tyre's rubber has to blemish free for a tyre centre to accept responsibility for any puncture repair?
