how can you be muslim, if you are not going to follow its rules and regulations,

How does someone be a Muslim skitz? :?:

It's the reason we have wars then, cos nothing is a right, I can take/say/do whatever pleases me, and noone can do anything about it.
Nice one, I think i'll stop working from tonight

..the reason we have wars is because some people get it into their heads that because THEY don't agree or like something, they should be able to prevent it from ever happening.

Wars don't happen because people are offended, they happen because they try to stop themselves ever getting offended again (which means crushing freedom of speech...or atleast one view).

Skitz, my feeling is you are going completely off track here, and you are muslim

and you have made this an aunessacery battle for yourself,

Just where exactly does the caliphate come in?, it holds no reference to clothing which fits religious requirements.

Ok accept this, freedom of speech exists, and so does clothing which fits religious requirements I.E the Burkha.....
So is a headscarf religious clothing or not skitz?
In your opinion why is the burkha such an ordeal for you to accept? rgeardless of weather it is truely a religious attire or not, that still does not justify the low life comment made about them! any way I dont see any other culture or religions wearing a burkha so clearly it has association with muslims and islam!

It has association with them, but it isn't religious in itself.
The caliphate has nothing to do with clothing, i was just asking why you said there is no different sects when it is quite clear that after the death of mohammed his legacy was split over who had the right to lead the muslim religion, this is where we get the two sects of shia and sunni...and the dispute about the caliphates.

Religious clothing is anything that is NEEDED to practice the religion... as it is not NEEDED, it is not religious, it is cultural.

Again, I am not a muslim.

...sorry I didn't the other part of your question, I don't like it because it is a symbol of oppression and stinks.

You know what skitz, I somehwhat agree.

It is more a cultural thing but has religious connotations and has been developed through religious influence. To be honest I dont know exactly the roots of the burkha.
But still it is wrong for an MP to comment like this even with free speech.

I have bloody migrain

Its the same as blokes wearing a kabli set, and white cap, it ****es me off, as men seem to wear this to show there faith when it is not a requirment but a cultural dress. some real ****takers wear this dres, white cap and long beards, who are anything but good muslims.

I tell you what if I ever get married, my wife will not be wearing a Burkha, and I hate the thought of walking down the street with her wearing one, that said she will have to dress moedstly as that is a requirement.

I agree. Modesty is the best policy....the burqa goes to far for me, the hijab is ok though, that way you can have culture, take care of the religious requirements if you wish to and still see the world without a veil.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on the idea of free speech.
The old sayings are the best..."Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me."

....the burqa goes to far for me, the hijab is ok though

what do you mean goes too far for "you" and the hijab is ok....its not like you have to wear one...and its not for you to have to be able to say whats right and whats wrong in those circumstances, or that culture. face it they may have the opinion that revaealing clothes go too far, somethings you have to except and what you think will not make a difference...I wonder whats you endgame plan...if you were a prime minister I bet you would ban the burqa, but then whats your problem if people of a diffrent culture where what they like?

I agree the blue burqas i see on tv are too extreme, but most burqsa are just a dress with a headscarf anyway. they can still see, or is it you want to see them, that is not your right thoghu is it?

You know words hurt more.[/b][/i]

What I meant is, in my opinion it goes too far. All Burqas DO cover the face.
I would like to get it banned...it is oppressive. I would like to get FGM banned too...that is also oppressive.

This is my point I don't think these people choose to do it, I don't think anyone that hadn't been mentally messed up or forced to, would.

They are told to wear it.

Here is a link for anyone who doesn't understand the terms used.

I mean is this ...
veils4.jpg.gif

...honestly what you think God wants women to look like?

oh my days, a burqa is not plastic surgeried on for life, it is for public wear, and is not worn 24hrs a day...they do come off

...that makes very little difference. "You only have to wear it when you are not in your home...or if male apart from your family and husband are around..."

That is still going to be most of your life under a sheet.

ok now you are saying people wear a burqa because religion has mentally messed them up...so al people who value religion and adopt the culture must also be dillusional. in your opinion

one thing that will eat your sack, is that you will never be able to ban this burqa or FHM.

considering the women in islam adopt a traditional role of housekeeping that is not the case
