I've changed my mind now I've scrolled down and seen their top of the line production plant. The likes of Eaton and Schneider can only dream of something so professional.

Guess we now know who they buy their enclosures from too

:)

Interestingly, if I understand them correctly, it seems that they 'type test' their CUs created by inserting devices into bought-in enclosures ("Certification to BS EN 61439-3").

Yea but then on their pricelist it says
Some combinations of devices fitted may not be certified to BSEN61439-3 They may, however, comply

Make sure you hoover all the dandruff flakes out of the enclosure before you use it:

Sad, really.

I think they mean for bits of all one make like Denmans or Live
If you want your own mix then

Bespoke Assembly Design Service
Although we do supply all our goods as single line items, as shown on our Invoice, if you want us to, we can assemble them to your own specification, so they arrive as a Distribution Board, ready to fit on the wall. This is a FOC service, which saves you time and effort on site. However, where the resulting board, as designed by you, is not certifed to BSEN61439-3, it would probably comply with BSEN61439-3, as required by BS7671:2008: AMD3, 421.1.201 and/or 133.1.3, thereby satisfying the Regulations.

Yes, on re-reading a bit more carefully, I think you're right.

In that case, no different from any other supplier of CU's, then (other than that one has to jump through hoops to buy anything from them!) - "Certified to BS EN 61439-3" if the devices are of the same make as the box, and 'recommended' by the box manufacturer, otherwise 'not type tested'!

I would not be fitting that in my own house that is for certain!
Care to elaborate on why ? Serious question seeing as they've been recommended to me in the past in this forum.
They look a lot better than the Pro-Elec ones I've used in the past with their plastic DIN rails and wobbly boxes - CPC don't have metal cases for them, I asked.

Doubtful they sell many or any, as you can only order after applying for an account, part of which includes listing qualifications to supposedly prove you are competent to install such things.
Are you suggesting that it's a good thing to sell CUs to anyone regardless of their skills ? And I suspect that for most installers, it's a matter of "NICEIC reg number nnnn" - "that'll do nicely"

Well, £15.00 plus vat (£18.00) is still a lot dearer than £2.20.
Extra £126.40 for eight.
£126.40 is not a lot of money at all, and when taking into account the protection and convenience they give it is a no-brainer.

You do not need qualifications to install electrical equipment for gain, and clearly none for DIY. They should go by the laws of the land.

:LOL:tell that to someone who has to choose between rcbos or eating for 2 weeks, see what they think.
What you mean is some people would consider it value for money.
