Hi im moving my boiler and am contemplating replacing it altogether as it is a bit faulty.
Its an ideal classic and its about 15 yrs old.
We arent required here to buy a condensing boiler so im not going to bother as ill get a better deal on something more basic.
So basically im wondering if someone can recommend a good reliable boiler...heating about ten rads...house is about 1300 square foot(current boiler has an output of 17Kw)

I rang around and got a good price on a baxi (35/80?)80000BTU not sure if thats overrated though or not for my house...they guy couldnt tell me what that was in KW!!
Cheers,
Marti

Get another Ideal Classic. What's wrong with yours? Unless a leaking heat exchanger it should be repairable.

Hi guys,
had a look at my boiler today and yeah...im going to try keep it.
Whats wrong with it is this!!
It might work for an hour maybe more then it trips out and stays off...it will come back on again if i sharply tap the little control box inside it.
Its an NF 50 for what its worth.

Im guessing there are dirty contacts or something like that...any ideas...oh yeah the higher i set the temperature the more likely/earlier it trips out.

Cheers,
Marty.
