A question for you Julie - what's the difference between "a clique" and "a definate clique"?

Has anyone else noticed or is it just me? When a thread turns into a full blown row. 9 times out of 10 that's the time softus gets involved. Before hand he has nothing to say?
Then he sucks up to the regulars and tries to belittle new comers to make himself look more knowledgeable than he is.
The man is a TO**SER!

I have just read one post by a complete novice (his first post) and he got totally hammered by the regulars for not asking questions in a way that they liked (i.e not enough technical info) the man said he was a novice. They answer questions with questions and throw in sly comments to try and humiliate people to amuse each other.

Then they all go on a rant with each other and nobody is even bothered about the origonal question posted.
no, I Havant noticed that, but I have noticed that new people to the site are very defensive at first and gradually settle down and get on with everyone or leave early on, there is a real mixed bag here which shows how grown up we all are. ;)

This site should be called "self obsesed.com"

Just imagine how many members there would be if it wasn't for these *****rs scaring them away ( site owners you need to get a grip )

Reluctantly, I must ask that you get your whips out.

You may bring a friend along if you wish.

ok my thruppence worth

i think its great to have banter abuse slanging matches fantastic :D :D

if thats what you want i have no objections in fact i would encourage it ;)

its just a shame when a person comes on for help and is not made to feel welcome
somtimes a thread goes a bit off topic but this can help as it gets people involved and eventualy the answer comes :p

i personal will read who starts a topic and the"wording of the heading" and often ignore specific headings and or posters
which is a shame as "all posters"have valid points but in my eyes are off set against confrontation arguments ect just for the sake off it :D :D
often with a complete lack of respect for any one else

barneying great if thats what you want start your own thread on the subject and we can choose to join in or not ;)

One other point regarding rudeness/ungraciousness on this forum:

I find that, of the people who have questions answered, those that post a word of thanks or confirm the source of problem and solution are very much in the minority.

It must be galling for those who take the trouble to answer queries that there is no confirmation as to whether their suggestions was right or not.

To those that do respond to help, whether useful or not, it is much appreciated.

Pah, don't think you've ever answered one of my threads and I have the utmost respect for everyone - especially if they are handsome millionaires who want to send me loads of dosh....

If all anyone has to worry about is that they don't like some text posted on an anonymous forum, do they have any real problems?

Softus: It would be easy to start copying and pasting your earlier comments and giving my opinion on them as there are a few points that I don't agree with.
I'm not going to do that as you have offered an olive branch and I am going to accept it,thank you for that.
I have to say that I am glad that I started this thread as I believe a lot of things have been said on both sides of the debate and now both sides know how the other feels on the subject it can only do good.
