The main issue I can see is that sockets are supposed to be RCD protected. Depending on the age of your installation it is quite likely that storage heater circuits are not RCD protected.I removed the storage heaters and I'm wondering if it's possible to replace the FCU that they were connected to with just a standard socket

To do the whole mess.I would guess he dropped the tails out of the meter to do the swap
