Hi All,
At present I live in a 2 story house with one toilet and an external soil pipe. The pipe is made from asbestos concrete which is a pain but we are looking to fit a new bathroom so it would make sense to replace it.
The pipe comes into the bathroom a bit high and the existing toilet sits on a block of wood about 5-6 cm high so that the waste could be connected. (We obviously dent want the same for the new bathroom)
The end of the soil pipe goes into the ground and is cemented in.
My questions are:
1. How easy will this be to replace?
2. What am I likley to find if I broke up the concrete at the base of the stack?
3.Do Different toilets have different height needs for waste?
4. I have checked the Asbestos regs, and l can remove it if I take the necessary precautions but to leave it there, it is likely l would have to saw through it. Is this possible to do safely?
Any help will be greatfully received.
Many Thanks
