Hello.
Home insurance up for renewal. Also, I've been reading about an increase in lock "snapping" type break-ins so I've decided to update the front door main lock, an old Banham 363 type with a 73mm twin-cam double cylinder - and no Kite Mark. (I'd prefer to replace the whole lock but it's too expensive for me right now (about £300) so just the cylinder.)
Replacement euro cylinders for this twin-cam type seem mostly limited to TSS 1-star TS007 offerings, so not anti-snap (only snap-resistant); prefer a 3-star fully anti-snap, anti-bump, anti-pick model if possible.
Does a Banham 363 lock housing/mechanism definitely require a twin-cam cylinder? If not, then I have much more of a choice, otherwise it seems I'm stuck with 1-star models.
Any suggestions appreciated. Also, thoughts on buying such a product online rather than via a high street locksmith with a registered key service.
