the way i see it he is not comparing the actions but the unchallenged rhetoric that started before and left unchallenged allowed the outcome that happenedLineker is guilty of trivialising the suffering of millions of people during WW2.
By comparing the treatment of illegal immigrants to victims of the Nazis, he is implying that the suffering of the victims of the Nazis is comparable to an illegal immigrant living in a hotel in the UK.
i also think a much better choice would not include such an extreme evil action as the outcome
maybe a reference to another evil atrocity but perhaps not Rwanda??
