The making or telling of such jokes in the face of tragedy is a very British thing! Personally I have no problem with it and received both of those jokes by text message yesterday morning! [edited to say - Crafty got his reply in first saying the same!]
Seriously though, a great character who will be missed, and my condolences go out to his family. I heard on the news today that his father has asked that it not be made into a big "state funeral" as he was just an ordinary bloke and wouldn't have wanted that. Fair play to him.
