Rover 45 TD engine jerky when cold

I'll unbolt the spout and check the copper washes. If its one of the pump body joints (low pressure side), I'll try silicon sealant.

This inlet from the reservoir (where the rubber pipe fits on to). Not my pump, one listed on ebay but for a 45TD

Just been and checked mine as was unsure, so I must beg your pardon. The banjo appears to be on the pressure (outlet) side, on the end of a steel pipe going (I assume) to the steering box. Principle is the same though, it uses a copper washer either side to make the seal IIRC.

I didn't take mine apart, but was a keen observer whilst the friendly MG-Rover specialists at Derby did it for me.

I've got my pas pump removed from the car and stripped to the bare unit.

All I can do is apply silicon seal around the body joint as I'm not where the leak is.

The low pressure feed spout doesn't have copper washes, it merely has a single rubber o ring seal so I'll replace that as well along with the water pump o ring.

I need to get a couple of dowty sealing washers for the high pressure pipe too.

The engine misfire has returned.

I suspect the fuel feed pipe on the tank. When I refitted it, the connectors did not seem all that tight. They're some kind of nip fit like a kid proof bottle top.

Any point air can get into the fuel system will cause a problem. Not had to do anything to mine other than change filters, so not too sure what to suggest I'm afraid, other than remaking the connections to ensure they're airtight.
