I just replaced the drain pump on our WD80N645OOW and since then the drying function has ceased to work.

Admittedly I did take off the housing for the dryer chamber/heating element to check for blockages and cleaned it.

I’m just wanting to check, does either of the pumps play any role in drying? Knowing this will mean I can target the components at the top, as opposed to worrying about the pumps down below.

Check the wiring to the stat/ntc sensor on the drier box and wiring to the element. Perhaps even the pressure switch if it is connected to, or has a pipe going to, the pressure switch.

Turns out there’s a trip switch on one of the ‘fuses’, took it all apart again, did continuity checks and accidentally found that the PBR380VP which failed continuity had a switch, once pressed/reset, continuity returned.

Dryer is now getting hot.

Happy wife.
