What a lot of people don't understand is that when a majority in N. I. voted remain they did so because they believed that Remain meant the whole of the UK remaining in the EU, what they didn't vote for was an internal border in the UK.
Boris claimed that under his deal N. I. would have the best of both worlds, frictionless trade with the EU and unfettered access to UK markets and trade deals.
Boris's claims have now been shown to be untrue, most of N. I. trade is with GB, a customs border means that businesses trading with GB will face extra costs, imports from GB will attract tariffs.
UK border officials in N. I. will be subservient to EU officials, N. I. will have no political representation inthe EU, all in all it is a real mess.
The EU and the R.o.I. have conceded nothing ofany substance.
