Second door bell connection

There's something seemingly odd about the figures. It seems that the first bell is resulting in a substantial voltage drop (around 3V) (which isn't necessarily unexpected), but adding the second one results in only a modest (less than 1V) further drop. I'm not sure that I can rationalise that.

2 chimes will need a 2A , 8V transformer such as a Byron 7781.
The majority of doorbell transformers are 1A, 8V, which will not do 2 chimes regardless of how they are wired.

That Greenbrook thing is a non-standard 10.3V.

For what it's worth, it's always been easier just to fit two new bells the same.

ONLY where the cable run has been particularly long, Friedland have recommended to use a 12v transformer, with the two 8v bells.

Opinions? (before he starts buying these things...)

I have finally got the Byron transformer. Attached are the pics. The paperwork says 8v 1a but the transformer has 8v 2a !

I assume I connect the same way as I tried before.
