My missus keeps telling me to go and see a doctor but I tell her it's a sign of good health and a good diet.

Who's right?

You might be punishing your bowels more than you realise. If it smells bad coming out it's usually bad going in. Some people have a high tolerance for eating shyte but eventually it catches up with them. My mate Dave for example lives on fruit pastilles and red bulls and never had a problem until hitting 30s, and he's now getting dandruff and spots and has started worrying about sugar intake lol.

Depends - if you've any other symptoms other than a stinky arse! Can be celiacs disease or lactose intolerant but those, as far as I know, come with bloating or occasional pain.
My other half has farts than can strip paint off the walls and he has a very fast digestive tract. Not sure if the two are linked tho.

You can google types of food that make the smell worse - and maybe get back into the Missus's good books by avoiding them?!

Not always. The constant farting and bad smell are really the first warnings you'll get of lactose intollerance. Easy way to check if it is that is to switch to lactose-free milk (Arla - sold by most supermarkets), and cut-out cheese and real butter. After 7 to 10 days if the smell is much diminished you probably have your answer. Often catchs up with people who've been lifelong dairy produce eaters when they get into their 50s. Hence the term "old fart"?

Ian,you will be farting like a good one when you come to cut/join them expensive worktops.
