I've spoken to my brother about all this ghosty lark before. he works with this small-time tv company that 'investigates' haunted places (same thing as 'Most haunted'). He said they've captured strange 'voices' on their audio before when there was no-one in the room.
I've listened to one of them which he claims is the old landlord of this pub calling 'time at the bar'. Sounds nothing like a voice. Just a deep sound that is more like a building settling after a warm day.
As has been suggested, if you beleive in this sort of thing, you're more likely to make certain connections. If you dont; it's just coincidence.
