I'm planning a bathroom refit in the coming months and as part of that will be replacing the electric shower.

The existing shower feed is 6mm which I'm planning to swap for a 10mm as it needs re-routing anyway, however I suspect the availability of breakers for my existing consumer unit may be the limiting factor of what shower I can fit. The consumer unit is a split load GE model with Series E breakers. I don't want to add the cost of a new or additional CU at the present time so will have to work with what I've got.

I've found online that various brands of Series E MCB including Sector, Steeple and Vynckier are compatible however I can't find anything bigger than 40A which will limit me to a 9kW shower.

Are there any other compatible breakers which I would be able to source in 45A or 50A?

I remember the trickle shower of my childhood, and have assumed for years electric showers are useless, but this house already fitted when we bought it and the solar software shows they are very small output, yet they seem ample. The the key is the rose needs matching to the shower.
