Hi All

I am trying to do something similar to this
out of an old chair.

It is still a prototype so no need to look fancy.

Want something to connect the various parts of the chair (back; seat etc)
that would allow me to change the angles without having to unmount the chair
My first thought was on a joint like this

without the pluming part of course

Cant find it for sale though.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to use there?

Thank you

This may be the corniest thing you've heard so far today, but as no one else has ventured a reply.....
How about converting a quality car seat from a breakers? Its only the bit down from the seat that you would need to tackle - some are even electric!

Like you already :)

That might somehow solve me the problem of shifting the angles between back and seat.
But i would like to have more adjustable angles, like between back and neck, between seat and lower leg, and somehow between whole chair and floor.

You aren't exactly making things easy for yourself....I think I'd consider taking an existing recliner chair, stripping off the upholstery and then think about altering the design, personally.
At least the original item has springs which assist with returning to the original position, and anti slip clutches that prevent a quick tumble to the floor.....
Unless you are trying to patent your own design, of course!
John :)
