Shower on a 40A rewirable fuse

80A rated proteus fuse box (wylex copy)

9.5kW shower on a 45A rewireable fuse.

The result?

The ring has been burning too

Those contacts will polish up ok and a bit of Jif on the front - good as new

Why is the largest rated fuse furthest from the main switch? - perhaps that's whats contributing to the problems.

Probably didn't help things but the busbar looked relativly undamaged with most of the burning being arount the top half of the fuse.

Its just all wrong.

I got called to it at 6.30 tonight
