How many witnesses would be called? there are potentially very many.

Indeed so! But, if he was guilty, the prosecution wouldn't need to call very many of them to prove their case. Witness for the defense might be harder to find.

How much would it all cost?

Fair point. Justice costs money. What do you suggest?

What would the sentence be if he was found guilty?

A sentence would obviously be pointless, unless you want to dig his body up and put it in the gibbet like Oliver Cromwell.

It would be another great earner for the legal profession if we started pointlessly trying dead people.

Very true - and most such trials would indeed be pointless. It's only the huge public interest that makes this one different.

I suggest that in the face of the overwhelming evidence people just accept that he was guilty and go about finding out who may have helped or colluded.
Also begin moves to expunge him from public worship and place him in the category of public notoriety.
Which is exactly what has been happening.

I would also respectfully suggest- that it is a known fact that some people 'LIE'.
Especially when that 'C' word comes into the equation.

We've had that argument, if you seriously think that they are all liars then you've got a strange understanding of human nature.

Yeah, I've still got an open mind as to whether Hitler liked Jews, or whether Pablo Escobar did drugs.

Are you honestly suggesting that Saville's own great niece is looking for compensation from somewhere?

Dunno- aint ever met her.

Some women murder their husbands--and surely- they are closer than a 'great niece' ?.

If he was paying members of the family to stay stumf then maybe she sees the gravy train disappearing and wants a last big dip in the pot before everyone else gets their cut?
