Hmmmm... but that could lead to the neutral being overloaded (since there will be no cancellation between L1 & L2)


What cross-section is the flex?
Wouldn't just be the neutral, it'd be the live as well given they're linked. The cable looks to say 30A on it, 7400w is around 30a

Not sure I've ever seen a cable that has a current rating on it...... number of cores & cross-section - yes. Voltage rating - yes... but never a current rating.

I read 450/750V rating & its type H07RNF. Where do you see a current rating?

Right you are, was looking at VDE upside down. The manual from the website indicates it should be linked, doesn't mention 3 phase wiring so I take it this model is sold in the EU as well.

All these induction hobs are 1/2/3 phase capable and use the similar 4 core cables / ratings of them. Invariably, domestically, we in the UK will connect L1 and L2 together.

The plastic label attached to the cable has
25A~
written on it which I'd assume as the cable's current rating?

With diversity and the manual stating it is 2.5 sq mm it's obviously suitable for this application.
 
Mainly for France with split phase, however the voltages are wrong, split phase would be 230 - 0 - 230 or 460 volt, three phase would be 230 - 0 - 230 or 400 volt.

But still just join the L1 and L2.

Pretty sure the diagram is indicating using 2 phases of a standard 400v 3 phase supply.

But, in this case, it doesn't matter.

The device doesn't use the line-line voltage (since, if it did joining L1 & L2 together wouldn't be an option) so from either system (3 phase or split phase) the phase to neutral voltage is still 230V. The only thing which changes is the current in the neutral (if 3 phase then L1 to L2 = 120 deg, if split phase then L1 to L2 is 180 deg)
