Sink plug has become stuck in plug hole. The mechanism that lifts it is broken and I can't seem to wedge it out. Any ideas how to remove this?
small rubber sucker
Or dry it, press on blu-tak as a handle
Take trap off and push up with something from below
Why cant you reach around the back of the waste tail, and unscrew the gnarled nut that captures the rod and ball?
Unless the waste and trap have been boxed in, its a simple matter to reach around behind and work by touch, altho in most cases you can push your head in to see what you are doing.
Check the position of the spring on the rod?
You certainly dont drill holes in the fitting - that way you might end up having to replace the whole waste and pop-up assembly. Altho a rubber plug on a chain is by far the best way to go.
