SMALL PEOPLE CAN THEY BE TRUSTED ...

ive read that boys will always be taller than their mothers...
think this must be true as Ive never seen otherwise.
I cant visualise my little warriors as fully grown men and how it would feel to be stood beside them towering above me... lucky you!

By boys I take it you mean when they are fully grown? If so, men are usually taller than women so I suppose that figures.

While were on about it why is that tall people are generally a bit slow on the uptake and usually will not stand up for their rights.
Quite a few of my tall mates are henpecked whilst the smaller ones appear to be more confident and successful in life
By the way I come in neither category as I am just your boring Mr average in terms of height.
I suppose it just shows that you can't generalize.

Now why did I not expect that response.

I would class 5ft 9 in and 12 .5 stone as average and I have no hangups about my size. It just goes to prove that being taller than average can be just as difficult to handle as being smaller than average .

That gives you a body mass index of 30.7
On yer bike ;)

Hmmm.

But yours is 25.8, which is still overweight according to the health fascists at http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/, and I will in no way accept that 12 and a half stone is overweight. As for myself, I will accept a bit tubby, but obese ?? Never !!!!

They are supposedly going to be reviewing the BMI charts - might make me a perfect weight for my height then instead of being a 'cuddly mummy' as my youngest calls me :p

I am pretty sure BMI is not used by doctors, as my Dad went for a check-up at the doctors a while back and was measured. It said overweight according to the BMI, but when he took his top off, the doctor noticed how muscley he is (he is for a 55 year old). So they take into account stuff like muscle build aswell.

The England rugby team are considered obese by BMI.

I'm 6ft 5ins and 17 stone the doc said that I could lose abit of weight but no big deal about right for my height .

Its all a question of compared to what.
In the states I would be skinny and you would be classed as normal in the weight and size category.
Keep eating the dumplings ;)

I had to take my eldest son to A&E a couple of weeks ago and the doctor we saw there told him he was severely underweight. He is 6ft 3" and a 32" waist, medium t-shirt (don't know his weight). Thing is, he eats like a horse & thinks nothing of going out for a burger or a pizza with his mates after he's had his dinner! I mean, what do I do, force feed him steroids?

lol I was like that when I was a kid, its cos he's active even when he's not, I still row twice a week but when I stop my body just shuts down. sort of  I'd go out after dinner down eight pints and have a pastie or two but was 12 stone.

Honestly - I eat like a mouse !!

I was once buying a shirt in a department store in Boston, as BA had kindly lost my luggage, and aware of a possible difference in sizes asked the sales woman if she thought I was large or extra large. Being a big black woman, she looked me up and down, pursed her lips, did that moving her head from side-to-side thing and then said loudly, in a Tom & Jerry's housekeeper voice 'I would say you is Extra Large, Honey !!' so that everyone could hear, so maybe there isn't that much difference after all.
