Climate Change (split off from "Snow" thread)

The fact that it's an infinitesimal small amount compared to natural processes happening everyday.
If you really cared about the planet rather than yourself, you would be opposing deforestation and use of plastic.
How much gases does a vulcanic eruption emits?
Google it so you'll realise that the old lady driving a fiesta is less than a drop in the ocean.
You need to look at the numbers, I think you'd be surprised.

Good.
Now add that to all other natural processes and see where you are.
Besides, the question remains: how come the planet has been (at times very rapidly) cooling and warming up when humans weren't there?
Couldn't it be that the climate must continue changing (at times very rapidly) for the planet to flourish and survive?
What if we go back to stone age and the earth keeps warming up?
We'll all die and the planet will inexorably continue warming up or cooling down, rapidly or slowly as it's always happened.

Fear not, Earth will thrive without humans. (y)

I see many rapid peaks in those graphs, up AND down.
The earth has been getting warmer and cooler sometimes very rapidly, since it was born.
Many organisms became extinct because of these rapid changing in climate.
And.... humans weren't there...View attachment 368505
None of those peaks are anywhere near as rapid as currently.

Unless you have a better scale to show

And we'll go extinct.
You're concerned about your welfare rather than that of planet earth.
Instead I've accepted a long time ago that I am a little cell in the massive living organisms planet earth and I will die for the progression of the whole organism.

The planet will definitely survive. Should we actually care if, because of our actions, humans and lots of other current life forms become extinct relatively soon? Are we too obsessed with preserving the status quo?

That is probably the trickiest bit to get your head round. Basically, the planet was in a perfect natural balance. And although comparatively small, our actions have upset that balance. A new balance will be found, but at higher temperatures.

No, unless you can dispute data from the very sources telling you to pay more tax because of climate change.

The voice of reason.
In this new balance humans will not survive, surely not in this numbers.
That is the only concern of climate terrorists.
If they cared about the planet they would do lots of other things rather than point fingers and ask for more money.

Is it the tax that hurts?

Not the change?

Oh dear

You'll end up paying more to combat the effects of climate change or you'll end up paying (even more) if you don't.

Perhaps you thought ignoring CC and leaving things as they were, was is going to be cheaper, lol.

Yes, the tax hurts people who pay it, so you don't need to worry.
What do they do with our money?
Pay mother nature to stop climate change?
If they do it's not working.
Mother nature is pocketing the money and doing nothing.
The change doesn't hurt, it's been happening for billions of years and nothing can stop it.
Again, you should be concerned if the climate stopped changing, very concerned.
I predict that 8 billion people will not be on earth in 1000 years unless we adapt to live in a different climate using technology that today doesn't exist.
Shifting the production of gases to the other side of the world doesn't work.
The planet and its atmosphere is one living organism.
It's like injecting a drug in a foot and think that only the foot will be affected.
More important than trying to stop a natural process is clean the planet; stop all single use plastic and deforestation for example.
