And 'diplomatic boycott' means the athletes go, but no members of government or dignitaries.
Just for the opening ceremony, as I said a pointless symbolic act.
Diplomatic relations are not affected.

But you implied that some EU leaders were attending, which was devious and intentional fake news.
More than a few EU leaders have broken ranks.
Not a single EU leader attended.

Absolute typical example of prejudicial moderation.
Gas112 posts has been left intact.
But my post:
upload_2022-2-6_12-12-9.png

has been deleted without any explanation.

If moderation is to have any semblance of fairness and equality about it, it must be not only seen to be fair in practice, it must be fair in principle.
To be fair and equal in principle, it must be foreseeable in its application.
If poster a) breaks the rules (and my post did not break any rules), then exactly the same criteria must be applied to all other instances of a similar nature, which would mean that gas112's post (and all other similar posts) must also be deleted for no reason, and with no explanation.

I can only assume that I have a mod who is stalking me and for no apparent reason or explanation, other than pure vexation, is deleting my posts.
Or others are reporting my posts, for no acceptable reason, and mods are deleting them without considering their content.

Currently moderation in this forum is totally unpredictable, and unfair, but not haphazard or random because I am a regular victim of such unpredictable, unwarranted and unfair application of a weak interpretation of the rules.

No doubt this post will go the same way.

Maybe the Mod thinks you're a nob.

Maybe the Mod thinks you're a nob.
Obviously at least one of them does. Hence the exploitation of their authority.
Maybe they should write it in the rules, something like:
"upset a mod, and you'll be the subject of vexatious deletion by that mod".
Then at least the application of the rules would be recognised as haphazard, random and unequal.

I doubt the ruskies will invade Ukraine until the met reveal their investigations.. In a deeply cynical move they will try and hide their invasion under the breaking news of boris and his obsessive partying.

(or have I got the the wrong way around)

Latest USA. Russia has 70% of the troops there it would need for a full invasion which would take 72hrs adding deaths. 10k Russians and more Ukraine's. The numbers would be a bit surgical going on a certain shock and awe invasion elsewhere

Grain has reared it's head as the Ukraine exports 75m tonnes of it. Looks like all goes east but well south of them but interfere and there would be shortages. Seems another problem is that they use a lot of Russian gear and spares are hard to get.

The Ukrainian president is getting hotter under the collar concerning USA escalations. Harming their economy. Also his election pledges. Ending their local war and taking back the Crimea. Also rabbiting on that Minsk2 favours the Russians too much. Bit odd that as it appears to have been dropped anyway. This may be because the latest USA response is said to leave scope for more negotiations.

AlJ were in a town in the disputed area this time. Demo's against Russia. They did mention that it's not that simple as a lot do want to be part of Russia. Bit like Brexit and maybe the other way round and the Ukraine president another Boris but intending to send troops into Crimea and elsewhere.

report on the news

Biden had warned that a Russian invasion of Ukraine is imminent

This morning the USA press were quoting the donkeys at the Whitehouse "invasion likely in a few days or weeks" - a big change from the statements they made a few weeks ago about it being "imminent."

More dirty news - "dirty bomb."

As they said, the first casualty of war is the facts.

I listed to a bit of RT out of interest. It's been taken off the air in Germany, they say as the license fee hasn't been paid so Russia has taken their German channel down to match, No idea what this means.

Anyway.RT had an academic watcher on. He seems to think that Putin is concerned about local neonationalist parties in control of countries that can't really look after themselves. He sees them as a potentially dangerous source of conflict. Say Ukraine invades Crimea for instance which appears to be an election pledge. Another is to end their own war presumably via more fighting. Neonationalism is just a form of popularism. Farage is a form as is Cummings comment about always mention immigration in campaigns.

 Pass but can't look after themselves is interesting if all the various ex soviet areas need support as one reason for the end of the block is the cost of maintaining it. It may be due to them not contributing enough to cover their costs. Believe it or not this was recognised when the whole lot ended. LOL A bit like the UK throwing Wales off as it takes some of England's tax take to keep it running. It seems NI does too. Scotland maybe too but not so straight forward due to the tax take from N Sea oil and gas.

Typical

Macron is currently in the Kremlin
Brown nosing Putin

he probably packed his shoe shine box ;):ROFLMAO:
