Stihl MSA 70 C-B Cordless Chainsaw

Sounds like a blunt chain. You've probably hit stone/metal/soil. When at college as a teenager we were taught how to sharpen a chain long before how to use the saw.

Not my pic, sharp chain vs badly damaged chain. It should be razor sharp, sharp enough to cut your finger - without the saw being on! Also depth gauges set to right height once sharpened

I binned the low kickback chain that came with my makita chainsaw, it was very safe but wouldn’t cut anything. Swapped it for an Oregon with a more aggressive tip which made a huge difference. But they need sharpening regularly and even a bit of soil stuck in the bark will blunt the chain almost instantly. A sharp spare is useful in those circumstances

Was that a battery saw. Stihl use the small cutter narrow kerf chains to extend battery runtime, they aren't low kick back.
