Because lazy arses throw it away, so its not really a case of stop using plastic but be more responsible in disposing of it

So very true..this country is shameful in the littering dept.

Glass milk bottles made sense back when everybody had a milkman, there was a natural route for return. Now that isnt so easy.

The energy use is probably quite high for returning glass bottles and cleaning them. Not the same environmental issue as waste plastic though.
