Any different from western countries setting up bases in strategic areas globally by fair means or foul?

The Chagossian people being forced out of their homeland comes to mind!

Yes it is

Leave them to kill each other, it's nothing to do with Britain.

After a warm water sea port.

From the article:
The agreement allows Russia to set up a naval base with up to 300 Russian troops, and to simultaneously keep up to four navy ships, including nuclear-powered ones, in the strategic Port Sudan on the Red Sea.
In exchange, Russia is to provide Sudan with weapons and military equipment. The agreement is to last for 25 years, with automatic extensions for 10-year periods if neither side objects.

If Russia is able to maintain a naval presence in the Red Sea it would be a very handy base to spread across the peninsula where Yemen has been fighting the Saudi regime for over a decade, backed by Iran, a long time ally of Russia. They could easily block the passage of ships in that region and become a thorn in our side if tensions should escalate in Ukraine and assist China, should they decide to strike against Taiwan in the near future.

In this case, it'd be helpful to British interests if the deal wasn't done, so the UK government would be happy to see the RSF take control - if they weren't linked with the murderous Janjaweed rebels who committed atrocities in Darfur.
All the UK can do is get as many civilians caught up in the crossfire to get out of the country and wait and see...

Pretty sure there was a purchase made rather than an invasion.

The Globalist don't like the Arab nations united, they want to divide and conquer, how many young men have been sacrificed for their profit over the last few decades?
The Rothschilds bank has been behind every conflict since the Napoleonic War supplying both sides with arms having Christians killing Christians for their profit!
JFK tried to take them down, Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein tried to tie their currencies to gold...
