suggestions please for a cordless drill for diy use

im in need of a cordless drill as my ferm FCD-2400 has 2 dead batteries.
im moving house and a bit of diy will be required also i have a steel shed to assemble and i dont know how much screwing is involved in that.

i have seen this CLICKY EBAY and its £35 delivered, not this looks identical to my ferm drill so i would assume i could use the batteries for both drills

what im wondering is should i spend my money on something better, i know more volatage should mean better but is a 24v cheapo more powerful than a 12v good branded drill ? I want something that will be a good poweful driver when it comes to heavy screws in woood and also be able to drill with a masonary up to 10mm no problem. With a budget of 40-50 quid what should i go for ?

why not splash out and get a ryobi one+ twin starter kit you can get many different kits for £100

they all have a hammer drill with choice of jigsaw/circular saw/ recip saw/angle driver/impact driver/drill driver

As Big-All suggests I'd go for a Ryobi set or have a look at this thread. I posted about a 12V AEG drill that may take you're fancy:

Ryobis are OK and can be good value, but I find the one+ ones too heavy for prolonged use, and the standard kit one has a poor hammer.

Smaller lighter drills from the main manufacturers are better than the big cheapies

I'm a fairly heavy DIY user and use a Worx rechargeable from Argos. Think this make was a Which best buy as well. Mine came with 2 x 1hr charge batteries, keyless chuck can be tightened one handed. Visited both my local B&Q stores today and they have a selection of power tools on clearance including Ryobi, Bosch and Black & Decker cordless tools.

I'd go for
1/2" chuck
2 big batteries (Multiply amp-hours by volts to give useable power)
1 hour charger
guarantee
and not worry too much about the make. The cheap ones are far better value than the expensive ones. Wore a DeWalt out and it wasn't worth repairing.
