The Swedish coach (a country we haven't beaten in 4 decades) earns less in a year the Sven earns in a week.

Just why do we insist on paying him ridiculous amounts of money?

seems alot of money to pay a guy to sit on the fence, scratch/shake his head and twiddle his thumbs dont know how he sleeps at night

The whole thing is a mix up .. Old Sven came here as a stud...

I could have picked his teams so far, do they have a strategy?
Should defenders be at their respective posts near and far at set pieces?
Where did we find that bloke who falls about between the sticks? Surely not a goalkeeper?

Hmm, wonder why terrific savings this guy did make are forgotten so easily.

Maybe his wife just doesn't realise the bargains he's getting. Does he buy two for ones or does he shop at Lidl?...I've heard you can save a fortune, but must bring your own carriers to get ultimate value. :D

Can you help me here, Woody.....do you know if they have the same tradition in Holland for players as over here - when they play for their country do they get a cap?

A cap is too much - they should pay for the honour of representing their country.

The only saving that the goalie has achieved is a reduction in his value on transfer market... We have had a tradition for decent goalkeepers .. not since Banksie tho' ....
Just watch the current defenders randomly filling the 6 yd area .. they do not trust their keeper, that is his territory and he should stamp his authority upon it .. They are each crowding the space of a fellow defender.
Sorry, if the game demands very high salaries and ridiculous turnstile prices, then I for one would expect very high skill and performance levels.. Seems a fair exchange.
BTW. Sadly, Owen has now completed his 'era'. All done and dusted, his failure in Spain will irk him for ever...
:(

I'm sure they get something, but not sure what or what its called. Tried to find it on the knvb site but failed I'm afraid.

Still: the first of July still looks to be on the cards

Joe, what's that with you and clogs? Are you jealous?

Can anyone really be jealous of a large wooden shoe?

sven should be on a basic salary.and when he delivers results as in any industry. He should get a works performance bonus, and not until...it makes you more hungry to sucseed...unless you are a director of a water company,Where you get a big fat bonus when there is a drout on and loosing millions of gallons of water through leaks..that's ok innit.
