Hi, I am after some expert help.

I have had my texecom alarm working sound for ages but today have tried to connect via wintex, this is where my problems have started.

Prior to today my alarm was sending me messages via the sms module and also the smart com was working fine.

I unplugged the smart com in order to plug in the laptop but couldn’t get the computer to talk to the alarm, after a few attempts i gave up.

Since then the smart com has stopped working and the alarm will no longer send me open / close or activation messages.

It will however respond to any messages when i send a status message.

I have tried to power down the alarm and power it back up, this didn’t do anything.

I have reset the smart com and tried it wireless and wired and although I can see the smart com on the router and it’s got internet access it won’t work.

When I try to enable smartcom It try’s to connect but I get an call retrying no carrier message.

Have i done something simple of have I broken my panel?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What panel ….what software and what do you have connected ? At a guess smart com and com gsm unit ? Using all 3 com ports ? How did you try to connect wintex …plugged on or via smart com

The smart com is on com 1/2 the gsm unit is on com3

It’s the texecom premier elite 168.

I tried to connect via a cable from the laptop to com1.

I also did a reboot on the hub etc to refresh the ip addresses etc.

I have checked on the panel and com 1 is smart com / 2 is com ip and 3 is gsm. I’ve tried everything but probably missed something simple.

You would have to make com1 not used to connect with the lead ….alternatively you could have connect via smart com from wintex
Check what your comports are now set as…
Com 1 ….smartcom
Com 2 com ip
Com 3 gsm

Check all of that it’s all correct.

It’s almost as if there’s a global setting been set for coms to be off that u have somehow turned off.

I’ve also checked all of the arc profiles - several are set as sms and one is set as smart com / I’ve tried deselecting this and then putting it back in but still nothing.

Seems I have two logins one in the dogs name one in mine…..

Any idea on how I fix the issue? Have i fried the com ports?

So I’ve got an update.

I managed to connect via wintex and not sure how but the gsm module is now back up and running. By doing this I’ve proved that I haven’t fried the com ports.

Still no joy with smart com. Really lost on this.
