no he isnt and he is unattached.
Not sure yet about much of his personal life.
Flowers are lovely but it takes time to cut the stems and put them into water or arrange in vase etc. ( and if you are also trying to watch bubbling pans, thats just an extra hassle.

I actually saw some unusual... wine bottle stops...and thought I might get one of those???

well Gary, I actually saw some lovely little oil burners but I dont know his colour schemes nor his smell preferences.

I always take a little something when invited for a meal (unless it s at regular pals where I would be broke as it is a regular thing, including the kids!)

I just think it is a warm gesture.. everyone likes getting a little token of appreciation.

I once took some miniature shortbread willies to one of my work girl friends and we had them with coffee afterwards.
It was like the equivalent of how do eat a jelly baby.. head or what first!!

I dont him well enough or I would!

It could be an ice breaker or I might never get another invite again and terrify the poor man!!!!!

Getting the flowers wrapped in plastic, complete with water, alleviates this problem.

Personally I would just give him a very nice, classy, thankyou card and the wine. Men are not as sensitive as women in this area. I don't even think a present would be in good form.

You are correct about socks or aftershave etc, they can easily be taken the wrong way, so are a no no.
;)

ooo... just got that softus..

As in, will he think I have made too much effort?

Never crossed my mind. Us girls... we always do it for each other, nice tokens.

Is it not a man thing?

Would just a better chosen/ expensive wine... be more apt?

I do not want this to be taken wrongly.
I do it automatically for my girl friends and they do for me... thought I would do same for him.

Err on side of caution you are thinking?

PB, thank you also.. May be a card afterwards?

Thats up to you but I would say with the wine myself.

If you enjoy the night ( I don't know whether you are married or not) and you fancy seeing him again a phone call to thank him would give you the opportunity to chat again. ;)
