Wow.
There were a lot of talking points in this programme. I appreciate the point was a seamless account of the events of the day, but it would have been nice to see different views of the second plane, the towers collapsing etc.
When you see these things from a distance, you dont get a real perspective of how big they are. But up close to those towers, the people with cameras looking up, you begin to realise the sheer size of them, and the massive difficulty in putting out a fire that high. (by perspective i mean from a distance that 747 could have been a cessna etc)
I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but was there any real point in sending rescue teams into the buildings? Wasn't it inevitable that the buildings were going to collapse, given two commercial airliners had just destroyed one side of both buildings, causing massive fire and heat? Did they not seek advice from structural specialists? Perhaps those that built the place? Wasn't it obvious that the people above the plane strikes were beyond help? It makes me wonder what I'd have done if i were stuck up there, go up (i wonder how many were on the roof?) or stay put?
