The crumbustion chamber?

Charlie Mullins advocates All plumbers to be legally registered - or not be able to work - like in the USA ( small article in a monthly heating rag) He says it would get more £ into the treasury . Just imagine - my old C+G certs would actually mean something - and the cowboys would be gone - no more Bald Dom to watch on TV

It won't work like that though will it.
The company involved with the registration would have to assess you and for that privillage you will have to pay them your hard earned cash.
Meanwhile the unregistered plumber would still continue to do plumbing 'cause they just don't give a toss.
Servotech,

Its on the cards then. Another tax on the legitimate operative.

I did however get my 16th edition electrics pass without the 2 year apprentiship required to take the exam icon_wink.gif Bent colleges everywhere.

You don't need to be an apprentice to pass that one. Done it myself actually, but it doesn't make you Part P accredited.

UTTER BO**OCKS there are a few bent colleges but on my last reacs 2 (out of 11) failed and had to pay for a retest.

I did however get my 16th edition electrics pass without the 2 year apprentiship required to take the exam ;) Bent colleges everywhere.
What 2 year apprentice requirement?

The two year apprenticship was asked for by two assessment centres not by the third - what do I know about electrics? NOTHING but I got the qualification. ;)

All any College should ask is - are you competent to understand the course.
Well, the two assessment centres were wrong.
The only requirement is are you reasonably able to pass - so they ain't simply taking money off you.

Bet you got your gas the same way.

Are you Part P qualified then? If not - why are you messing with something you know nothing about?

Just for clarity Joe, what actually do you do for a living?

So, when you renovate properties, do you carry out all the work yourself or do you contract out to other specialist trades?

Do the lot myself. I'm the owner so I can do what I want.

I don't pretend to be something special like wot u do.

If I need something testing or certifying I know people that will do that.

Since when did we as gas engineers say that we were ' something special' ? So, if you need something testing, you know 'people' that will do it for you? These people I take it are willing to testify to building control that the job has been carried out to the lastest standards and can verify on paper that they have installed the gas / electrics?

They will conform. I can run pipes and cables etc.

You can't run gas pipes joseph.............unless you don't intend to sell these properties you do up for a profit.
