I think we can all agree that the tories have failed to control immigration. My take is that this is deliberate, they allow in unskilled labour to keep wages down while pretending they want to stop it but the nasty EU/ECHR/Bogeyman won't let them.

There is absolutely zero chance of the Labour party reducing illegal immigration, the squadrons of clueless do-gooders that have infiltrated the party simply won't allow anything resembling control, as those with the sort of mindset illustrated in this thread would shout racism at anyone who tried it, and they'd be persecuted out of the party, therefore it just won't happen. Those at the top of labour are slaves to PC wokery, led by the bloke who can't even say what he thinks a woman is for fear of offending this lot.

There's a very good chance (based on their track record and statements) that they'll make the situation vastly worse. The moment Starmer starts dishing out the passports there will be more boats than waves in the channel.

Of course the tories like this failure to distract attention from all their many other failures. But it's still a major issue, it's definitely not an imaginary issue that doesn't matter, suggesting this is just dumbing things down so low that it requires a Labour party level of comprehension to conclude this.

Not me.

How many of those years do you take responsibility for.
13+ years of Conservative governments

Isnt it interesting how Conservative voters had zero interest in the homeless or poverty until they realised they could use it as an argument against foreigners
I'm taking that you still claim to have Been a Tory voter.

The elephant in the room of globalists setting the agenda.
Do you think the Tories and labour will have differing views on climate change, trans, immigration health etc when Rishi and Starmer are both puppets of the WEF who set the agenda.
It should also be something to note on this day 20 years ago today dr David Kelly lost his life, Blair, Mandleson, and Campbell are in the background orchestrating new new labours bid for power.

No party can "stop the boats“: it's only 20 miles, and doable on a half-deflated lilo.

Braverman's slogan is just a dog whistle to the slavering 'kippers.

The pertinent question is, who is best to deal with the migrants, once they do arrive?

Assuming Labour get in come the next GE, it will be interesting to see how they approach the migrant issue inclusive of 'the small boats.' I suppose the public will give them a degree of time, a so-called honeymoon period where they can simply say 'we're still getting to grips with the mess the Tories left.' However that will only last so long, after which those seeking action on this will expect Labour to start delivering.

no they dont

the squadrons of clueless do-gooders that have infiltrated the party
please name one

Those at the top of labour are slaves to PC wokery
no such thing

led by the bloke who can't even say what he thinks a woman is for fear of offending this lot.
what is gender is a person born with XY chromosomes

There's a very good chance (based on their track record and statements) that they'll make the situation vastly worse.
please provide an example of said "track record"

The moment Starmer starts dishing out the passports there will be more boats than waves in the channel.
please provide evidence to show why you consider this is probable

The only solutions are: speed up processing of claims and do returns deals with other countries

not much else they can do

So in effect what your saying given how countries in the eu are up in arms about controls on immigration. Is more of the same, crisis in health, schools over subscribed, traffic standstills, building on green belt, etc etc

All caused by lack of willingness to invest, using the easy get-out of blaming the foreigners.

This country has always been the same: build something with a 25yr lifespan, spend waste a fortune bodging another few years out of it while in government (or don't, and let it decline or collapse), then clamour for it all to be properly invested in, once back in opposition.
