Sorry PC prik but this is Britain and no matter what race you are you are in a British way of life and a British way of life they are called xmas lights, they have never been called holiday lights, they are called xmas lights because in a Britain culture thats what they have always been called

Can you explain why you think British people have to alter their way of life to suit others who have come to Britain tempory or permanantly in order for some silly bozo idealistic rubbish spouted by some silly airheaded dummy like yourself or those councillers.
Because Freddie you are living in the past and things have moved on, havn't you noticed? this country is no more "british" than any other one, time to get used to it this is a multicultural country now!

You may choose to agree or not, nevertheless there it is.
It sounds pretty plausible.

I've never figured out how the abbreviation "Xmas" came about.

Surely that would be pronounced "ecks-mas", or "cross-mas". Neither of which is anything like "Christmas".

I'm with Margot Ledbetter on this one. ;)
As in Criss-Cross the first part is used Criss, sounds like the way christmas is pronounced by some with a silent T.

I dont know the statistics of what some refer to ethnic minorities Kendor but i should imagine no more than say 15-20% so by that reckoning then i would say the majoriaty is still British by far.

Do you see how stupid and pathetic the English pc crazy people are Kendor and i include you in that crowd aswell.
No not really, the subject is not how silly anything may seem to yourself or others it's the fact that some find it offensive and therefore it is right to do something about it.

the reply from me concerned the second part of your post in that you mention the british culture and british people, who are the british people?
there is no british in the sense you think of these days the term merely relates to people of britain and no more.

This'll be controversial but here goes.

The Guy was a fool to lie about his conviction and the appeal..stupid and crazy if you ask me.

However, he was convicted of a nasty crime 20 years ago as a young fool, he served time in prison and has not commited a criminal offence since...

Now he is the victim, one of them, of a horrendous and cowardly attack, he has lost half a leg as a result.

Should he recieve compensation for his suffering and experience..100% yes...should he get more than £50K..yes he should, because if he gets it they all will

We don't have to like the man to see the bigger picture...

Every country and it's people Kendor have it's traditions, actually nearly all of Britains traditions are Pagan traditions as is xmas and the names are the same.

No country does as you refer to change the names of these traditions because the population has changed in any way----no one has said we cant have extra traditions as some of the newer people may celebrate, but what you refer to is the British people have to allow the Chinese immigrants or Korean immigrants to barbacue kittens and puppies on a certain day just because we are a multi-cultrial society. ( example )

Your argument or reasoning is groundless and silly in the extreme and also very very damaging because if you alienate the British people anymore you will create extreminism and that is begining to show now and the same was done to Germany throughout the 1920's--and there is a big lesson for you---it has also been done in other countries aswell with the same results and it proved a big disaster.

If you think it couldnt happen in Britain you are so wrong but it's getting to the stage where it may be too late.

Every country and it's people Kendor have it's traditions, have the traditions changed in your part of the country in lets say the last 100 years?

WTF..why has this thread degenerated into racist rants AGAIN..race has no part in this discussion.

No self dicipline, and nothing to say. Empip threw in an off-topic comment here Thu Nov 24, 2005 12:34 pm, johnny_t followed here Thu Nov 24, 2005 12:52 pm, then Freddie manages one of his offensive openings here Thu Nov 24, 2005 1:21 pm. Then it degenerates.

Freddie is probably the most two-faced. As you will know, he's very quick to point out where people have gone off-topic when it suits him, and to complain when mention is made of the contents of other threads. I'm surprised he hasn't managed to get a dig in about camera bodies on this thread too.

Oi,Oi My topic in the first place.

I was replying to a post, with a quote about the same guy.

I said:
Do we consign all 'self indulgents' to misery then?
I guess the NHS would have about 3 patients in that case.

Anyway, here is a decision made, rightly or wrongly ??

This was the guy who lost the leg...

This is a place for having some fun surely? Just like in the pub .. No court of law .. just ordinary people chucking ideas and thoughts around... and often laughing at the serious.

I am sure places exist for serious debate.

BTW Our old friend who likes to 'quote the rules' hasn't popped up regarding this ...

Oilman go fuk yourself i WAS having a reasonable discussion with Kendor for once on something and it was calm and an an intelligent debate untill Slogger and YOU came in throwing tantrums and pointing blame.

I actually see no difference as to yours and Sloggers posts, but then again you always do follow him around check posting against his all over this forum---take your love affair/fettish elsewhere

But it is your statements that are making the divide, i'm merely stating the middle ground in that it is wrong to think that any one culture in this country is dominant anymore.
