Surely you could amost guarantee every 10th picture or so would show the same stuff on the Sil-ees - With them being that expansive ..

Summer's here and the time is right for .... !

Did you buy the book RiP ?
:D :D :D :D

The A4069 over the Brecons beacons 'aint bad.

Others that spring to mind

Wrynose / hardnott pass / cumbria

Rosedale stack / Yorkshire.

The B???? from Prestwood to err nowhere / Bucks

The what-do-you call it pass from borrowdale to buttermere / Cumbria.

I think I need to attend to the BBQ.

.

Nearly mentioned this earlier, but I didn't really think the 'pretty' applied. More like 'awesome'. :D

Agree about Rosedale, though.

But how boring is this, the view from wrynose / hardnott is truely fabulous. As I'm sure many other views are. But I'm "only" 39 and how much more intersting was it to drive to these places? 1:1 curves double hair pins? so much more exciting in a car you knew would either not make it or overheat at the top ?

Wouldn't change those memories for any modern car that would simply "breeze" up there.

I once drove over the wrynose in a 1.8 sierra, 5 in the car including my mum. The tyres weren't at their best (rear-wheel drive) and as we were going up round the haipins they were starting to screech. I swear that if I had had to stop we wouldn't have got going again. Mum was very quiet!

If you got the old Moggy minor up to the top of Porlock hill, which we did with no overheating, there was the 'AA box' complete with water barrel and sometimes a man in uniform standing beside a mo'bike combo, he would salute you, even if your AA badge actually came with the car !!

Now there lurk pretty roads ...
;)

The best road is the one with a pub with a happy hour that lasts all night and next to it is an indian/chinese/chippy that are having an "eat all you can for £5 offer"and there is even another pub next to that selling REAL ale with a "lock in" for customers who have eaten at one of the numerous eateries on the same street.mus'nt forget the free taxi service aswell.

p.s. can sunstroke make you daydream.zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Don't have much time to admire the view with your footpegs scraping the road! :D

When you drive along it in a Diesel Connect that is governed, you have plenty of time to soak in the view!!!
