It seems to me that the number of arrests were pretty much the same in comparison between football matches and the Nottinghill Carnival.
I don't hear anyone calling for the banning of football matches.
Weird that.
I wonder why some are calling for the Nottinghill Carnival to be cancelled, and are unconceened about violence at football matches.

It's not easy or possible to do a direct comparison for various reasons, e.g. football arrests occur over several months, in many diffrent places.
Many repeat offenders have been banned from matches, leading to a gradual reduction in arrests over many years. A lot of effort, planning, infrastructure and processes have gone into the reduction and prevention of violence in football. The number of police for football must vastly outweigh the number of police at the Carnival.

The easiest way of identifying Premier League clubs is to use the all-time list of clubs. Because violence and arrests will not depend on whether a troublesome club is in that league for this season or not.

or as some people call it "The Notting Hill Carnival" is over for another year. Once again, mindless violence, drug dealing/taking, sexual assaults seems to be ever present. A shame, as it started out all those years ago as a happy event. I dare say local residents would not be too upset if it was banned, maybe it has run its course?

That must be awful. Imagine, you have just moved into your new house, and come Saturday afternoon, thousands of chanting people descend on the area, causing you to become alarmed. You then realise there is is this great big building with a large grass bit inside less than half a mile from your house which is the destination for all these people . Where did it come from? How dare they build it near your house just as you move in! I would be up in arms if they built something like that near me without telling me. On the other hand, it may have already been there, and people moved there BECAUSE it is there.
