I'm pretty sure that's demonstrably wrong. Previous generations have had widespread lead poisoning, fetal alcohol syndrome, poor nutrition and worse parenting. They had it hard and that has implications in their health and intelligence.Each generation is, on average, less intelligent or otherwise talented than the previous one

Parents are supposed to want to give their children a better world and upbringing than they had, it shouldn't be a criticism to acknowledge they have managed it in many cases.
