I probably could do that! But its a lot of joints, so if I can get it out with one straight piece, even if it means widening the hole in the wall a bit, its probably better

You can't really really class a solvent weld as a joint ,it becomes one solid length ,

yeah fair enough. But it would still be one extra joint than if I can get the straight pipe. But it may be what I have to do, I'll see tomorrow

If done correctly. But I've seen many leaks and if it does its a ball ache to cut out and start again. This will be boxed in so best to take away all doubt. Move the hole and have a straight pipe.

Get a decent one, variable speed is a must. For DIY don't worry about cordless. I treated myself to an Atlas Copco (now Milwaukee) about 25 years ago for a particular job (100x100 trunking through a 480 mm brick wall. Its had a lot of work since and has cost me a set of brushes 10 years ago. (cost is the wrong word, I emailed them asking what size brushes were needed cos they'd gone completely, they posted me a set back with a comp slip )
I also have a B&Q own brand SDS which was much cheaper but not varispeed and no clutch (so if you're coring and the bit jams the thing tries to break your arm)

Yeah I've learnt my lesson buying cheap, it's not worth it. But I'm not sure I can justify and ads right now for this one job. I might end up trying with a chisel and hammer!

I'm actually getting external wall insulation, as in Bristol there is a rule that once you remove 25% of your existing render you have to increase the U value of the walls. So I don't have a choice if I go much further! With EWI they can just go over the top of it all anyway

Fair enough, not had anything to do with Ewi so don't know how they fit it when there are soil pipes on the wall but must be a common obstacle for them to overcome.
Must be a nightmare doing plumbing mods once its done?

The company I'm going with just take off the soil pipe and re fix it if its on already that is. Yeah I guess it could be a nightmare making any big changes after its done, I didnt ask them about things like moving holes in the wall. I'm sure its possible
