Hard to say. Though there is some truth in it, it is a bit harsh to say that Cameron is a clone of Blair, given that Blair, who is meant to be a Socialist Prime Minister lets not forget, is occupying what should be the Conservative's place anyway.

Anyhoo, given that Left-Wing politics appear to be dead in this country, we don't really have much of a choice any more - Just let one lot in, wait for them to really mess up, then chuck them out as a punishment and let the others have a go at the same thing.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, I have had no complaints under this government apart from the wars.
I was feeling much more vulnerable under thatcher's government and was worried i would lose my house for most of their last term

The thing to remember is that Governments don't get voted in - they get voted out. As long as the economy is stable Labour will remain in power.
When the elections come up they tweak the economy and house prices rise (which suits most of us). It's a better idea than having a stupid war as Thatcher did.

But it doesn't matter wether it's the Tories or Labour, remember the saying "If it hurts then it's working". It has taken years to get the economy under control and Labour just inherited it from the Tories thus taking all the credit for it, watch this space 'cos I can see it all going pear shape for them but Blair will be out then, he doesn't care. Whatever parties there's always someone going to get hurt, it's getting the right balance and I feel Labour is wrong party to do it.

Your interest rate will have to go up sometime because they have given your money away again, are you going to blame Blair this time?

Don't know where you get that idea from? the country was in a terrible state and people had had enough of the tories messing everything up, and all the corruption, Labour had to sort out the mess and although it has taken a while to do so and still is, there is far more stability in the economy today than when thatcher was in charge.

Thought I got you lot going

Seriously though, I can't see any parties getting the right balance having says that my uncle is very well off and is now far richer now under Labour, don't seen right somehow

The richer are still getting richer and the poorer are now worse off and in my views this is wrong.

That is wrong as you say but it has been that way for recent governments and i think labour are worried to change things like before with the previous labour government when the rich were heavily taxed and has toed a more middle of the road approach.

this stuff about the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, if you google it, it makes you feel ashamed cos its about world poverty not us in the UK, we get so wrapped up with our selves we forget how lucky we really are.the poor are dying of no food anyone relate to that?

you are of course right Richard but the thread was leaning towards internally in the UK as opposed to the actual or real poverty as you state.

I never voted him in, what's your excuse?

So who would you vote in and why, no one so far has come up with a factual good reason to change the government, or the best alternative.

I vote Labour, mainly to keep the Tories in opposition and because i do not see a viable alternative at the moment

And a change of leadership doesn't necessarily lead to a change in policy, Once voted in would the old Tory ideals filter back in?
