The leads on these are made out of cheese and will just fall apart in seconds, I bought an Amazon one (!) as I needed to do some basic DC/continuity tests as my nice meter has been mislaid during the house move, it's not terrible

Leads are replaceable, although they might cost almost as much as a new one of those meters. Think of them as 'disposable' and if (as, in my experience, is quite often the case) they are still 'going fine a few years later, that's just an (unexpected but welcome) added bonus!
