to answer the question

one of my favourite hoildays was when me and the missus travelled around America on the AMTRAK train system amazing trip

New York- New Orleans-Grand Canyon-LA-Denver-Niagara falls -New york
the trains take you everyhwere in style deserts, rocky mountains superb

where did you sleep in Motels? on the train?

combination of the 2 , it was a few years back we went for about 30 days and i think we slept 7 nights in total on the train and the rest in hotels or motels
where we stopped off.

it was an amazing deal on Rail Passes back then if you were a tourist.

Seeing as YANKS are so huge the train seats were almost the size of single beds when you unfolded them

sounds amazing.... wonder what that would cost today?

we are talking 20 years ago now i remember at the time thinking it was amazingly cheap for the ticket and hotels were dirt cheap to compared to our overpriced stuff and so was food!

first time i saw the grand canyon was one of the most amazing things i ever saw....................................................

After Solkjaers Winner in the 1999 euro final against Bayern!

think i need to add a helicopter trip over the Grande Canyon to my list !!

I see my name mentioned again. Just to let you know, I've also been to Ibiza 3x Majorca 7x, Crete 2x, Tenerife, mainland Spain, France Netherlands, Belgium , Germany. Czech Republic too.
Used to go abroad 3 times per year as well as have a few weekends away in this country, But the OP was asking for favourite destinations you'd been to and then destinations not visited but would like to go.
I've liked all the places I've been, I'm not overkeen on mainland Spain, but that wouldn't stop me going again.

Spacecat, I'd love to go to the US. I had the chance some years ago, but it would have been expensive for what would have been a short visit, so decided against. I bet the trip using the AMTRAK would be expensive nowadays ?

Well reminded LadyLola - Cuba :)

Although I always fancied the "real" Cuba - I fear with Fidel's decline, it will become another suburb of America (and full of spring breakers) before too long.....

The place I would love to visit is Austrailia and go to the barrier reef :D

well ive never been anywhere abroad in my adult life,

so i wouldnt mind 'GOING ANYWHERE'.
