Traditionally best builders? White British? Sikh? Polish? Irish

tradiationally is there a particular culture you would have to build?

I find white British good quality and knock the work up quick and good quality - but can be pricey.

Sikhs(who are well known in the trade- give better value but can sometimes drag the job on and be unreliable.

Polish are improving.

Jamaicans / are best skimmers

I disagree. Large firms head quarter their offices based on the reputation of the country. It's not being racist. I bet you this influences most of us sub consciously when selecting a builder.

I'm Asian myself. And there when I have a white British builder doing my work. I do feel the work is going to be done with little or no headache. I feel a sense of relief. A Indian builder while being cheaper, I feel they have to be monitored constantly

There's plenty of white brits who are cowboys. Don't judge a book etc...

Having seen the state of Polish and middle-Eastern self-build houses, I wouldn't trust them with anything that is structurally kinda important or hidden from view, especially plumbing. But for stuff on show my first choice would usually be Indian or mainland European; Brit tradesmen are too often condescending, foul mouthed and have a bad attitude. I call them 'Radio-1 builders' cuz you know that's what they'll be listening to!

Yeh agreed Brit tradesman can be very grumpy. But they are good for if you want the jo done well and fast

The only builders that have ever come to quote for us have been white. They have been a mixed bag of course. Not known any other around here so can't comment.

Had one woman joiner that came, but didn't quote (like the majority of trades that come around). She seemed ok though, and came recommended.
