What is the going rate a TV installer would charge to have a length of coax run from one downstairs room to a signal splitter in the loft? excl. material costs of the cable and TV face plate.

£45 to £75 depending on length of run plus cost of face plate

Would that include for making good or just surface mounting the cable?

Also, would the cost for installation into two rooms double and three rooms triple?

The only way you will get an accurate price is to have someone look at your house - there are many variables.

For example, two holes drilled through the wall and cable clipped down the outside will be cheap.
Concealing the cable via an upstairs stud wall, under the floor and then chased into the wall downstairs, all replastered, redecorated and carpets relaid etc. will clearly cost far more.

Thanks for the replies chaps, but looking for some average prices for now, along the lines of the range chivers67 quoted.

Yes but to charge £45-£75 does not give any allowance to first come out and look at a small job like this.

Its only economical to just turn up and do the job.

Think about it. For £45 the person doing the job has to load up materials, travel to your site, install the cable, provide cable and fixings, etc.
Then you will pay him by cheque.

He'll then return to his base (more travel time + petrol). Go to computer and cut an invoice to cover the value of the cheque. (So his accountant doent get eggy).
Then he gets back in van and travels to the bank to pay in the cheque.

So probably £75 would be more realistic. If you can find anybody who can be @rsed to do it.
