Two pin to UK Three pin plug adapter ?

The type C plug is rated at 2.5A in Europe, so 3A fuse is ample.

Indeed, but it is plugged into a 16 amp circuit in Europe, so a 13 amp fuse would not hurt either if that is what you have. No doubt the charger is internally protected.

It sounds like you have the Schuko with Earth to UK adapter. What you need is one of these

(other companies are also able to supply this part)

That adapter when open looks like it's for a 2-pin euro plug, but when closed has the 'hump' on the back lie it's for a 3-pin euro plug!
It's intended for CEE 7/17 plugs. Used in continental Europe for high current class 2 applications.

The adapters for earthed Schuko plugs (CEE 7/4 or 7/7) are substantially bulkier and at least the current powerconnections model doesn't seem to have a hump as such.

Cut the cr@p. Just do this^^^^^ ["If you're using it in the UK, cut the continental plug off and fit a UK 3-pin plug instead."]
Whilst that is clearly the best and simplest solution, when possible, on a number of occasions I have tried it I have experienced the very problem that bernard highlighted in his response to JohnD's suggestion - i.e. some of the cables have very thin/'fragile' conductors which are difficult to terminate satisfactorily in the screw terminals of a 13A plug.

The conductors sometimes have multiple really tiny strands, reminiscent of Litz wire, and, having got beyond the point of no return (cut the plug off!), I have sometimes had to tin (with difficulty) the conductors with solder in order to be able to even half-satisfactory terminate them in a 13A plug (and despite knowing the downsides of tinning).

I'm not denying that it is the best approach, but am merely cautioning that it might not always be as simple/trivial an exercise as one might think/expect/hope.

Kind Regards, John
