Judging from my last visit to a hospital, the NHS's ability to treat numbers of patients is directly related to the capacity of the treatment facilities car park.

That's incorrect. It's a small number and a tiny proportion of treatments.

I'm not talking about heath tourism, which still costs around £300m a year, I'm talking about the growth in the size of the population due to net migration (as its not increased births). Even if they are all super fit and healthy high earners, paying more than they use, it's still a load on the system.

The best way to improve the NHS, is for people to take responsibility for their own heath.

We have a system for claiming back the cost of medical treatment.
If it's not used, it's not the patient's fault.


If it's treatment to resolve a medical condition, e.g. gender disphoria, why should they not be treated?

Or we could help them accept what they are and learn to love the healthy body they have. Much cheaper.

Immigration is of net benefit to the NHS, this is known. And offsetting our declining birthrate is a good thing

Or if you live to a ripe old age what the drain on resources you will expect to 'claim by right' will be?

Let's have gym membership on the NHS.
Or food discounts for healthy food. Or reduced public transport fares to encourage healthier travel options. Or discounted activity outings.
Goverment loans for bikes, E vehicles, etc.
