Hi,
I have a Ultracom 30cxi which has been installed for around 2 years now. I recently tried to switch on the CH now that the cold weather has arrived but it didn't come on. What I found is that the system is heating the water in the boiler, the pump sounds like it is on but no water is being pumped around the system. All rads are on fully and no air in system. I've checked the diagnostics pages and they all look as expected. No F codes or faults on display. Can anybody shed a few ideas here please.
Cheers.

Enter the diagnostics level;

press and hol mode for 5 seconds
use + & - to change the display to 96
press mode again
use + & - to change d 0 to d 99

these are the boiler status codes

30 means a fult with roomstat or its wiring or (external programmer if fitted)

1 to 8 will mean the fault is boiler related possibly the diverter motor

Thanks for replying Beerlover. I have tried to access the extra codes via d99 but nothing happens. When d99 displayed I press 'mode' and expected to be able to view a further list but nothing happens. I'll go and try again. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Cheers.

d99 shows 31. Book tells me that that is related to summer mode. I have no external controls attached to this boiler. DHW works fine. I tried to chage d23 to winter mode but it wont let me change it.
Cheers.

I tried again to fire CH. Boiler fires as before and just heats the water in boiler. I checked d99 now it shows '7' pump overrun. I'm guessing there is a valve somewhere but shouldn't the bypass valve open if there was pressure? Hmmm I'm thinking the pump rotors have bust as the pump is running and not pumping.
Cheers

if you have hot water then 90% of your boiler is working fine including the pump
Can you see a radiator symbol in your display? if not you just need to press the mode button until both tap and radiator symbols are displayed.

I've jsut checked the system when hot water running. I guess the pump is pumping around the internal system heating the DHW water system pipes. d99 shows 16 when hot water tap on.

Is there a different password or code so I can change the summer/winter mode?

I have found in fault memory that there has been error 22. Somethin about low water presures or air in system. What would be the best way to purge the system, mayeb the pump needs bleeding or something..
Cheers.

I still have the problem. It may just be the summer/winter mode settings as I've just read another document that says the CH is disabled when in summer mode. Does anybody know how to change d23?
Cheers.

Sorry Strugglin, I'm back. S31 suggests that the CH is set to off on the controls.

Try:

Press mode (don't hold in) until the radiator symbol appears - then press the ch +button to raise temperture to 70 degrees. -does the ch work?

If you cannot remove the cover, turn power off then on to boiler and listen carefully - can you hear the diverter motor power forward, pause, power back, pause and a sort of shuffle? If you can remove the cover you can watch the spindle move; a torch will be needed.

Hi again Beerlover, I have turned up the temp settings for both CH and DHW, now i see the d23 is in winter mode. But still the only water being heated is what is in the boiler. I have the cover off but cant see any moving parts yet. I'll get a torch :)
Cheers

To the left of the pump is the diverter valve. The motor is on the front (Grey top) look down and into the body of the valve to see the metal spindle. When the power is turned on and off you should see this move in and then out. If not then the diverter motor is duff.

You said the boiler is about two years old; they have a two year warranty providing it was serviced in the first year. If they ask just say it was done by the installer.

I cannot hear anything apart from what sounds like the ignition. I've looked carefully and cant find anything thats moving or anything that looks like it would move. Where is the motor your talking about? I can see the main pump but no access to view any of the moving parts.
Cheers
